The only guests to my anniversary party were a big bunch of Krabbys, and they were only there for the food. I guess even after a whole year here, you can still reach new lows. That's actually kinda reassuring, in a very twisted way.

Ketchup isn't bad for crabs, right? Some of them are starting to look a little pale.

...I don't think it'd hurt them but I'm not 100%. I mean, if humans can eat it you're normally okay with giving a pokémon some.

One whole year. Longest vacation I ever got by far.

Maybe they're pale because of some other reason, then. Or maybe those particular Krabbys are allergic to tomatoes. Can Pokémon even have allergies?

Some can I think? It's like any kind of animal I guess. I'd say it might seem weird for big crab beasties to have allergies but after a while you kinda just stop seeing things as weird, y'know?

That's a little horrifying, but then again I stopped seeing surfing bovines as weird months ago, so I can't exactly talk. I guess I'll just bring some of the crabs to the nearest Pokémon Center so the nurses can have a look at them.

It was kind of improvised at the last minute; there was no time to send invitations. Otherwise, I would have aimed for an atmosphere other than 'damp with crabs and hotdogs'.

Actually, a card would probably have gotten damp, too. I'll have to make sure I'm staying somewhere drier next year, just to avoid that.

Honestly, I get the impression that's simply how it goes. Mine was little else but ennui, continued frustration at this place's sense of timing, overly sweet cake, and terrible alcohol.

Even bad cake and alcohol sound great at this point. Ever tried eating a damp hotdog while a crab snores on your head?

...well, I suppose yours is objectively worse, but at the same time I'd imagine it isn't also your birthday.

...Oh, wow. Now that's just cruel. Did you at least have pleasant company, or did the universe make sure there was no one you knew around, to kick you down a little more?

If I remember correctly, Krabbys were pretty tough, I'm sure they'll make it through. Can't say I know what ketchup does to them, though.

Exciting isn't quite the word I'd use in this case, but that probably has more to do with the venue than the occasion. Some friendly advice: have your yearly party somewhere warm and dry, it's nicer.

Ketchup is a condiment made with tomatoes. It goes well with a lot of foods, but the taste mostly covers everything else.
