The only guests to my anniversary party were a big bunch of Krabbys, and they were only there for the food. I guess even after a whole year here, you can still reach new lows. That's actually kinda reassuring, in a very twisted way.

Ketchup isn't bad for crabs, right? Some of them are starting to look a little pale.

That would be ideal, yes. But you can't control that. So you might as well aim for what you can control.

I guess I'll just have to clear my schedule a few months in advance, just to be sure. And pray for no random teleportations.

Random teleportations? That only ever happened twice last time I was here. Are they more common now?

I've seen them twice in the last year, and everyone who arrived here before me didn't seem surprised when they happened.

Huh. Well then! I really shouldn't be as surprised as I am. This place always liked to do crazy things.

Always, you say? When were you last here?

About two years ago! Although, I was fifteen at the time and that was six years ago so it feels like a lot longer. I was one of the first wave of people to come here. Probably the third or so? Something like that. At least, as far as we knew at the time. Who knows, really?

But I was stuck here for about one and a half years.

So time went by thrice as fast in your world... They weren't kidding about the lack of linearity. Did anything particularly strange happen during that year and a half?

As I said, teleporting happened. There was a horrible case of hallucinations as well. They were nightmarish. I don't remember much else but I vaguely remember there was a time where no one could remember what happened one weekend. And I mean no one. It was like we lost three days. I can't remember if it only ever happened once or a few times, though.

It's funny how the locals don't mention any of that in their welcome speech. Were they affected by all of that too, or were we foreigners the only lucky ones?

You know, I wish I knew. I know that during the fog that created those terrifying hallucinations, the police were warning everyone about being careful out there. And some times the news will seem...eerily in the know but sometimes? It's like they aren't affected by the really weird stuff. At least, I've never heard of a local suddenly getting stuck in the Bellsprout Tower.

When you say 'stuck in the Bellsprout Tower', did that involve people being forcibly teleported there by strange Pokémon and invisible walls blocking the exits?

Sounds about right, I'm not sure about the invisible walls, though. I wasn't the one stuck in the Tower. A little boy I was travelling with was suddenly teleported there, nearly gave me a heart attack when he went missing.

I can imagine the sort of panic that caused. How long did it take before they were free to leave again?

You know, I don't actually remember...Why? Were you around for that?

No, but there were glitches back in June that sometimes forced people to stay in place for a while. My team and I were stuck on a rock in the middle of the ocean for days.

Glitches? Ugh, sounds horrible. No, I don't think it was quite like that? But my memory could be faulty. A lot happened between the last time I was here and now.

After six years, it's surprising you can even remember that much. Did you keep those memories at home, too?

No, not really. It was a hazy dream when I woke up in my world. I didn't really remember anything but it felt like waking up after something pleasant. At least for me. As soon as I came back though, BAM, memories returned. They just weren't as clear, it's been a while after all.

Must have been one hell of a shock. Did many people recognize you when you came back? I know some people have been here for three years, but I don't know how many.

No, actually! I have to admit, I became rather...unsocial whenever all of my friends left. I was surprised, though! One person remembered me. I can't believe he's been here so long!

One's still much better than none. And now that you've returned after so long, maybe whatever brings us here will be inspired and grab some of your old friends, too.

Maybe! This place is crazy so I'll try not to get my hopes up, though.

There's nothing wrong with hoping a little!
...Unless you're hoping someone gets eaten but a Gyarados, or something like that.
