Seriously, it has everything needed for perfection: a wobbly video feed, a fluffy lime green afro taking up most of said feed, a Relicanth swiftly swimming away from said afro, and an original score -crashing waves, Eevee screams, the shouts of a hundred furious souls- that matches the action perfectly.]

Somehow, I suspect I wouldn't even feel bad about them rushing into a stupid, easily avoidable death.

Even if you had to deal with a whole scene's worth of wailing and melodrama from the rest of your team after the fact?

Ah, but it would result in them overcoming all their differences and my entire team functioning perfectly.

...That's true. Are their current differences that much of a problem?

Well, I do have a fair bit of them and Pokemon have fairly distinct personalities... obviously, you're going to have some individuals on your team who don't quite get along. Granted, being selective of which ones I allow out of their Pokeballs at any given time has prevented things from escalating, but it would be nice to not have to limit any possible combinations if I ever need to have several Pokemon out at once.

If they only don't get along, it's not so bad. Most of the time they can be made to work together for a good cause, even if only grudgingly and for a short period of time. But you don't have any that are dangerous to the rest of your team, do you?

It's rather likely that they're not going to have good synergy, though, which could possibly mean the difference between victory and defeat.

I'm not sure, honestly. It's difficult to get to know a Pokemon until you've spent a reasonable amount of time training it. So far, I haven't noticed any problems outside of minor personality clashes, but it's difficult to say if that will continue to be my experience.

Synergy is most important during double and triple battles, though, and most trainers don't bother with those. Not that you wouldn't want to have it anyway, but it's less dire than, say, making sure two of your Pokémon don't try to claw each other's eyes out.

Oh, most certainly-but there's a difference between being as close to optimal as possible and merely not having a terrible go of things.

True, if you can aim for the first the second looks more and more undesirable every day.

Honestly, settling for the inferior choice is barely even an option. I really can't imagine why anyone would do it.

I don't think it's too common. Overly violent Pokémon appear to be the minority, even if most enjoy fighting.

True enough... they're more like overly zealous sports enthusiasts than bloodthirsty warriors. You do get your occasional lunatic, of course, but it doesn't seem disproportionate to how it would apply to humans.

There's also the possibility that we don't hear about any other than the worse of them because they cannot go as far as permanently killing people. Even your Pokémon likes hurting others more than it should, a simple visit to the Center fixes it all without worries.

Still, you'd think people would be mildly concerned about those sorts of cases and try to correct them. It simply doesn't reflect well on the Pokemon or the trainer, and if whatever prevents us and Pokemon fails at any point...

Correcting certain dangerous behaviors isn't always easy, even when you can identify them and recognize that they are a problem. But if the locals take their protection for granted and grow complacent...

Well, at the very least, there are fairly convenient ways to contain Pokemon to prevent them from becoming truly dangerous, even if they don't exactly work as disciplinary measures.

Until the day they figure out how to escape from the PC. I'd bet a few Porygons can do it already.

...Suddenly, without even a warning, repeatedly for a few days... And then they'd stop, and we'd have to wonder if they'd forgotten how, or if they were just biding their time...

Honestly, in a case like that, I would assume that there was simply some brief problem in whatever causes the system to function which would be fixed after a few days. I haven't the faintest idea of how that's supposed to work, but that's usually how it goes, isn't it...?

Normally, I'd say yes. But in a world where sentient creatures can be converted into data and data can become a sentient creature, who knows what they could do?

True enough, but I suspect the scenario I provided would be the one we would be given, regardless of how true it was - or wasn't.
