Can anyone explain to me what was supposed to be so horrible about challenging Whitney? She was really sweet when we talked, and the info she shared about Normal-types is going to be useful when I move on. I fail to see what's warning-worthy about that.

Well, there are different afterlives. I know my afterlife is quite different from someone else's, so it's entirely possible that ours aren't the same at all.

I don't think my world really has one, unless you count those visions X-Rounders sometimes have.

People with abilities that include some form of premonition. I hear thay can sometimes see things that are not physically there.

[But only during dramatic plot moments.]

Where I'm from, no Shinigami has premonitions. The future is just as unknown to the people that are living. We can see things that aren't physically there, well to the average person at least. Average people can't see us, but they can feel our presence if we aren't careful. [ Is that easy to explain? not really. ]

That still goes much further than the powers of any X-Rounder I know. Their premonitions are mostly limited to 'Will that mobile suit attack from above or below?' Nothing deeper than that.

[ You have her attention with that one word. She's thinking of a suit that can walk on its own. ] You mean like, a tuxedo? Those attack? [ Sweet lord help us... ]

...No, no, mobile suits are giant bipedal robots. Made out of metal. No tuxedos there.

Why do you guys call them a suit then? [ That doesn't make sense at all. ] Why not Mobile Giant Robot?

They've been called that for hundreds of years. They must have had a reason back then.

That will be difficult. Even the families with a strong engineering tradition call them that just because it's their name.

Well, I guess the name can stay but I really want to know the etymology behind it now!

People from other worlds have them, too. Maybe one of them would know.

There's Shinn, Lacus and Kira. There were two others, but I haven't heard anything from them in a while.

I know Shinn! Maybe he knows about Mobile Suits! But, he called them Gundams.. [ Whatever that means. ]

Gundams are a type of mobile suit, or at least they are in my world. I think everyone has a slightly different definition for those.

So if they qualify as a mobile suit, I wonder if he knows the origin about the term....

Do you know how the term Gundam originated? [ ....Sighs. Here we go again. ]

No idea either. It must have been chosen by the Asuno who built the first one, but why...

So, are all of your worlds connected and just from different time periods? Or is it just a common thing in your world, like how you guys all have bread.

A common thing, as far as I can tell. Our histories have nothing in common.

So, if many worlds have giant robots called the same thing, I wonder if many worlds have Shinigami... [ it'd make sense. ]

Mine doesn't, but it's a possibility.
