[A Luxio can be seen staring out a window, a few metres away. It looks pretty down, even though an Audino is trying to talk to it.]

Does anyone have any ideas how to cheer up a Pokémon who's lost his trainer? Raven's been...

[Gone? Sent home? Split from her team in a manner that might well be permanent?]

...It's been almost a week since she left, and he hasn't eaten a proper meal since then. I'm worried he'll get sick if this keeps going. Think some traveling would help?

[Nothing else he's tried has, and he's starting to run out of ideas.]

Hmmm...I've only just arrived, but if a Pokemon acts anything like a regular animal...maybe getting him out and about would be beneficial to him? And getting him some new company? Maybe his original trainer left something behind that he can hang onto as a security blanket.

[Mourning is a pretty difficult thing to deal with huh.]

We went out to train a little together, but his heart wasn't into it. He didn't seem interested in watching the Kimono Girls dance, either.

[Almost hurt the ladies' feelings, too.]

If she's left anything else behind, it didn't come with him. Perhaps if he could see one of his old teammates...

What happens to Pokemon if someone leaves this world?

[Apparently she's been here before as well, does that mean there are Pokemon of hers left behind somewhere out there? Eerie.]

Maybe they ended up with someone else, too, and you could get into contact with them!

Some of them end up with new trainers, or find themselves at the Foster Home. Others just... vanish.

[Wait, that sounds a little alarming.]

Well, they probably just escape and run off to live their lives, but it still means the rest of us don't see them again. Hopefully that's not the case right now.

Hmm...I was here before, I wonder if something like that happened to any of my Pokemon? [If she even had any.]

At any rate, I think it'd be worth it to try and find out what happened to the previous party members. But then maybe he'll come around on his own eventually.

[Nagisa's own Audino pops up and into the feed, reaching out and trying to tap at the screen.]

Can I try something? It might not work, but music helped me and Dii-chan make friends really fast. It might help. Do you mind if I try singing to it?

If that's not too much trouble for you. I don't know if Raven used to sing to him, but I doubt it can hurt at this point.

It's not any trouble at all. Even if we can't speak in words, music is universal, after all. We can share our feelings even without words.

I'm not there in person, but I can do it over the PokeGear, I think. Do you mind setting it down next to him?

Some Pokémon do have some very musical abilities; it might just work. Wait a second.

[The Pokégear approaches the Luxio until it's finally set down in front of him. He doesn't even look at it.]

[As the Pokégear is moving, Nagisa clears her throat. She knows just what to try - it had worked on the creatures that lived on planet she'd been stranded on before she'd gotten brought here to Johto. She just hopes it works.]

Hey. I'm Nagisa, and this is Dii-chan. I heard you've been going through a rough time, and you probably feel really sad. But you aren't alone.

Come, come, all you lonely people, there's no point in feeling blue!

[She continues to sing through the first chorus, her Audino popping up and into the feed to try and point out the lines about how everyone's in this together.]

[ Since this guy hasn't said much of what he's tried, Zuko is a little curious if he's done anything at all. ]

Training, visiting a few of the city's landmarks, offering him treats, offering him toys, encouraging him to play with the rest of my team, even just spending time with him quietly...

[Sadly, 'giving him a ride in a giant robot' is not available as an option at the moment.]

Maybe he just needs time.

If he needs time to mourn her disappearance, I'll be happy to give it to him. But he has to at least start eating properly, before he falls ill.

It can't hurt, especially if you're heading somewhere they've never been.

You know, sometimes a change of scenery can be a good distraction? It works on people.

There's a long road with a few farms west of here, so I'm hoping he'll like the fresh air and outdoors. I trained with him around Ecruteak and brought him to most of the city's landmarks, and neither of those worked.

Well, sometimes being left alone to sort your thoughts out is also necessary. Sometimes a change of scenery is just a constant flow of unwanted stimuli.

Do your other Pokemon have opinions?

Eminoa's been trying to hug it out of him; Stripes, Bouncy and Catherine have been giving him as many trinkets as they can find; Stumbly and Grabby have been trying to make him laugh; all of the birds have been staying as far away as they could. The others don't seem to have any idea what to do either.

Can't really say I advise the hugging. Or the laughing. Sometimes that feels disrespectful to your grief.

[Finally, finally, the Luxio reacts and turns his head to look at his new trainer, or rather at the Gear he's holding.]

I think that's a 'yes, please' to the playdate. Where are you staying at the moment?

We're currently in Cianwood, planning to go to Olivine...well, in the near future. If that puts you out too much, I'm sure she wouldn't mind being transferred to you for a while. I'm afraid I can't recall where you are just now...

[ Give her a second and Aradia will locate "she" - Pia, once a shiny Feebas and now a shiny Milotic. ]

Pia, I believe this is one of your companions?

[ Aradia doesn't speak pokemon, but there's a certain amount of interest from the Milotic as she looks at the screen. Seems legit. ]

[He doesn't really need to ask, though, with the way Crimsone is now sniffing at the screen and trying to rub against it.]

[ Aradia shifts where she's sitting - cross-legged on her bed in the inn - to allow the Milotic to join her and stare at the screen as well. There's some soft Mil, Milo, Mil coming in the form of speech, and it seems happy enough.

Then again, being split up from all your friends after losing your trainer...Aradia had seen it happen before. They missed one another. ]
