...It's been almost a week since she left, and he hasn't eaten a proper meal since then. I'm worried he'll get sick if this keeps going. Think some traveling would help?

Breeders don't need badges in order to utilizes HMs outside of battle! ...It makes things a bit easier, as you might imagine.

I certainly don't think so. Especially since those newcomers might be trapped here with all of us for years at a time.

[Trainers spend way too much time not talking about their wonderful partners. It's such a shame, really.]

Since they might be the ones welcoming us if we ever leave and come back, too. That's always a risk.

...That's also a fair point! And if we don't remember but they remember us well, I think that'd probably give them a reason to be nice.

On the other hand...

You tell someone that Magikarps make excellent punching bags, and they repay you by mentioning that all berries one the road are delicious. Tragic.

Hahaha, oh goodness. I think one of my friends actually trolled another person I know who isn't the nicest once - by saying if he collected all the badges, he could become a troll again...?

Your friend should hope that particular incident will be forgotten quickly, then. There's nothing worse than broken false hopes that waste your time.

I don't know if he'll ever let it go, but...I don't think it was intended to be malicious, at the very least.
