So.
I just got around to getting my Pokédex upgraded, and now some of my old data is glitchy and incorrect. Not a lot of it, but still.
Is that known issue? Is there a fix for it?
I mean, it's not that much of a problem, but they should really test those upgrades before distributing them.

Maybe you could take your Gear back and let them know there is a problem? They might be able to correct it for you.

Think the nurses are any good at programming? Then again, maybe it's a known issue and there's already a patch for it.

I'm not sure. But you're right, there might be a fix out there for it already.

Um...if you think you might need help with it, though, I could try to see if I can figure out the problem. I'm a programmer, myself.

Really? That's a more common skill than I thought around here. Did you have any trouble with the update yourself?

There were a few things, but I've been able to mostly take care of them with a few tweaks of my own. I need to check back with the Center to make sure the information is actually correct, though.

That's the main problem for me, actually. Information that was changed for no reason. And since my specialty is mobile suit programming, I haven't been able to find what caused that change in the first place.

Mm...you might want to take it to the nurses at the Pokemon Center then. They would know more about what information is correct than anyone else.

As for what exactly is causing the problem...it seems like there is some sort of error in the coding that is causing the information to appear incorrectly.

You'd think they'd have bothered to test it for compatibility and coding issues before distributing it. Oh well, it's not as if dealing with it will be that much of a hassle.

Yeah. Perhaps there are problems because so many people are trying to access the system at once to get the new information downloaded? That would be my guess, anyway.

...That'd be just sad. I mean, there aren't that many of us, so that would mean they weren't even properly ready for the traffic coming from their own local trainers.

I suppose...there might be something else causing the problem that we don't know about. They could already have it patched, like you said.

Or it apparently could be that the glitchy data is actually correct, if what other people are saying about their own Pokémon is true.

...Honestly, I'd rather deal with an unpatched glitch than a world that can rewrite its own reality, but that might just be me.

Oh...well, I'm not sure if there is much we can do about that. What with this new type that is around now, and everything...A lot of things have changed, haven't they?

Yeah. I mean, discovering and training new species is nice, but some of it... You kinda have to wonder why those changes happened in the first place.

I haven't thought much about it, myself. Arceus clearly has a lot to do with it...perhaps it was the reason why those new Pokemon showed up a few months ago, too.

...Maybe that's its way of showing sympathy to the poor lost visitors who've been away from their homes for so long. Offering us new species to train, strengthening some of the species we already know... and protecting us from that explosion, of course.

Mmm...all of that would make sense, yes. I don't think it is the reason we are here, particularly...if that were the case, it would have sent a lot of us back, I think.

[Though...some of them might be better off staying, since they don't exactly have anything to come home to.]

Unless we're still needed for something. Sympathy shouldn't interfere with practicality. Or maybe sending people back is harder than bringing them in.

People seem to come and go rather often, and without warning, usually. It might just be a random occurrence that doesn't really...connect to anything we can actually explain.

I'd say the 'without warning' part might be the most important in this case. I mean, we're brought here in deliberate, regular waves, so why don't we leave the same way? Is it truly random, or is there some sort of invisible condition that some of us fulfill?

Mmm...I couldn't say. It seemed random, at first...but you're right. It does seem to be pretty regular, doesn't it?

Yeah. And the few variations are pretty suspicious. I mean, there was a week in May where I would have expected newcomers to pop up, but no one showed up in New Bark Town. Later that week? Those crystals appear for the first time. That can't be a coincidence.

As things are now, I'm not sure if we'll ever really be able to get all of the answers we are after. What we do think is mostly speculation...unless someone native to this place eventually discovers the cause behind it.

They'd have to be willing to share that information, too. And sometimes, I'm not sure all of them would be.
