If there is a bed in the middle of this particular inn room, it'll take more than mere human eyes to see it, covered as it is by Ultra Balls, Hyper Potions, Full Heals, Revives and Escape Ropes. Even Ash's Pidgeot does not dare try to land on it, preferring to observe the mess from the bedside table.]

It turns out that spring cleaning is the best idea I've had since I arrived here. Does anyone need extra supplies for the road? I'll accept absolutely anything in exchange, even smiles. ...I can even offer these, if anyone needs them.

Vermillion. Right. Oh, are there any birds that use electric attacks?

I can't think of any that learn Electric-type attacks naturally, but there might be a few that could learn Thunderbolt or Thunder from a TM. That's expensive, though.

Are there ones that aren't birds, but can still fly?

[captainash]

There are those squirrels... Emolga, I think? Little flying rodents that can shock you unconscious while looking like innocent pets. Which is the case for many species, mind you.

She does look innocent... but I don't think of her as a pet.

Because they have a form of sentience that resembles a human's? Or because pets don't usually breathe ice or fire, in your world?

I only ever saw dogs and cats where I'm from. Sky just doesn't seem like a pet. She's a lot smarter than any pet I've come across.

.... wait, she thinks like a human?

More like a human than a regular animal, at the very least. I mean, I've heard of Pokémon that write poetry or compose music. Can you imagine a normal bird doing that?

Not really. Can they learn to talk like people?

[captainash]

I've heard that some species can do it, but I can't confirm that for certain.

[seasaltkey]

Maybe someone else knows? I'd want to meet a Pokémon like that.

The older trainers and those who specialize in humanoid Pokémon might remember specific cases. Or maybe some of the locals.

The locals? Like that mom lady?

[captainash]

She's not likely to know much, but others such as Gym leaders and older trainers have seen a lot over the years. And a talking Pokémon is the sort of thing someone would remember easily, I'm sure.

I could always as Riku. He's been here a long time. Maybe he knows something.

Probably. I mean, even when I arrived he'd been here for a long while, so he must have seen a lot of Pokémon over the years.

He's been here for ages. Has his own business built up from scratch and everything.

Is that what all adults do?

[Some of the adults back home had shops.]

Not nearly. In fact, we have quite a few young entrepreneurs around. But building up a business takes time.

I don't think I'd want to build a business. I like traveling.

[captainash]

I'm sure most of the locals would agree with you. It's not for everyone.

I'd rather travel than stay in one place. Unless I like the place.

[captainash]

There's plenty of places to like around here, but I'd still recommend seeing them all before settling down. Preferably during each season.
