Don't get started on how barbaric a practice it is or how she'll be unable to use some of her attacks. The rest of my team need their eyes more than she needs any of that.

[The cat hisses angrily at that, though it comes out a bit muffled, but Ash doesn't bother looking at her before he turns the Gear off.]

Entry-level jobs and battles, as far as I can tell. The people who weren't born here can't do much more than that.

It definitely makes me want to poke around and dig up all their secrets. The tricker it gets, the more fun it is.

Engineering and black trenchcoats are still pretty exciting! Do you do that on space ships? You mentioned those before, right?

I do, yes. When I have the time, at least. As captain I have a lot of other duties, but I like to help maintain our defense system with my own hands.

[Defense system meaning giant robot, in this particular case.]

It's not nearly as glamorous as it sounds, I'm sorry to say.

Along with politicking, getting donations, making sure the ship is as efficient as it can be... It's a lot of responsibilities, though I still like it.
