Has anyone around here ever seen a Spinda?
Any Spinda? Trained, wild, bred, fused to a Gyarados as some sort of unholy abomination?
Because I'm seriously starting to think that some Pokédex writer was paid by the entry, and made that one up to raise their numbers.

I've never even heard of it, it sounds made up

Yeah. I was looking for Normal-types I don't train yet, and there's the silly spinning panda, taunting me with its absence from any piece of land we can reach.
It's not funny, it's demotivating.

When I read your post I had to look it up for myself and that is the cutest little creature. If you find one, can you let me know so I can go find one too?

So, even though you've been searching for a very long time you haven't found any clues at all as to where to find them? Even little tiny ones?

Not a single tiny clue. It's like those things only exist in the Pokédex.

Have you noticed any others that are like that too?
I was reading through and I saw entries for things like Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos.

Are they real?

Haven't seen those three personally, but considering that Kyogre, Groudon and Arceus are real, I wouldn't be surprised if all legendaries were.

It's nice of you to offer to keep an eye out for them. I've been looking all over Kanto, but two pairs of eyes are better than one, right?

I haven't been there in ages. You might catch a clue I've missed.

Yes! I'll be spending some time around Violet City and I've just completed Route 29. There hasn't been anything so far but I'll definitely keep my eye out now that I know this cutie exists!

Excellent. If it truly can be found around here, we'll definitely see one. If not, at least looking for it willl be fun.

I wouldn't think it very common to not encounter a Pokémon included in the Pokédex.

Seriously. I mean, I've seen more legendaries than I've seen Spindas.
That is not normal. At all.

Perhaps they're a legend in and of themselves? If no one has seen them, after all.

Their entry doesn't doesn't treat them like one, though. Unless they used to be common but died off along the way?

Hopefully they're just not native to this region instead, or a migrating species. That wouldn't be too bad.

I hope so as well--but I'll keep an eye out for one, just in case. There are a lot of different types in this world. I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't more hiding around.

Hey, as long as those hiding types don't decide to fall on our heads again, I'm more than happy to seek them out.
I just wish there was a warning about it in the Dex entry, you know?

It's okay, it only happened once.
Twice, technically, but they were consecutive days so they count as a single incident.
Thankfully, they weren't Steel-types.

Or a Rock-type? Neither sounds very pleasant to have fallen on your head.

Well, it wasn't really pleasant when it was the cats and dogs.
Or for the cats and dogs, for that matter.
But yes, those little rock fairies that showed up days later would have been much, much worse.

You'll learn quickly enough. Months rarely go by without... interesting surprises.

I'll make sure none of my things suddenly disappear, but I have a feeling that would be much easier said than done.

If you decide not to train any Ghost- or Dark-types, your belongings might be safe! ...But I'd worry more about the Yamasks and their masks. They can take over people, if you wear them.

I'll keep that in mind. But I'm curious: Are there any Ghost- or Dark-types you do recommend?

For a Ghost-type I'd go with Golurk for sure. How could anyone say no to a ghost clay robot that can fly?
Houndoom is an excellent Dark-type, and a good source of fire attacks. They might look menacing, but they're actually extremely loyal.
