Even Ash's Pidgeot does not dare try to land on it, preferring to observe the mess from the bedside table.]

It turns out that spring cleaning is the best idea I've had since I arrived here. Does anyone need extra supplies for the road? I'll accept absolutely anything in exchange, even smiles. ...I can even offer these, if anyone needs them.

[He adds three Moon Stones and three Sun Stones on top of the pile.]

I'll take care of the packaging and delivery. Just help me get rid of all that junk.

What kind of stones are those?

Sun and Moon Stones. They're evolutionary items; the Sun Stone works on Helioptile, while the Moon Stone is for Clefairy, Jigglypuff and Skitty.

Yeah, I got here about a week ago. Still getting used to everything.

You'll be getting used to it for a while still, believe me. But with any luck, the weather'll be decent until you manage to reach the next city or two.

I hope so. I missed a lot of the rain on the ferry... but Sky likes the rain.

Sky's a partial Water-type, I assume? A Wingull?

Nope. She's a Swablu! She just really loves water. Is a Wingull a water bird?

[captainash]

Heh, she sounds like a sweetie. Wingulls are this world's seagulls; they mostly live on the beaches west of Johto, and they're part Flying- and part Water-type.

Yeah, she's sweet, but she screeches when happy. [It hurts.] Huh. Are there any in Kanto?

[captainash]

I think I saw one when I first got to Vermillion, but I'll admit I wasn't paying much attention. There's a lot of water routes to the south, though, so they probably live around there.

[Roxas goes off screen for a moment to mark a place on his map.]

Vermillion. Right. Oh, are there any birds that use electric attacks?

[captainash]

I can't think of any that learn Electric-type attacks naturally, but there might be a few that could learn Thunderbolt or Thunder from a TM. That's expensive, though.

Are there ones that aren't birds, but can still fly?

[captainash]

There are those squirrels... Emolga, I think? Little flying rodents that can shock you unconscious while looking like innocent pets. Which is the case for many species, mind you.

She does look innocent... but I don't think of her as a pet.

Because they have a form of sentience that resembles a human's? Or because pets don't usually breathe ice or fire, in your world?

I only ever saw dogs and cats where I'm from. Sky just doesn't seem like a pet. She's a lot smarter than any pet I've come across.

.... wait, she thinks like a human?

More like a human than a regular animal, at the very least. I mean, I've heard of Pokémon that write poetry or compose music. Can you imagine a normal bird doing that?

Not really. Can they learn to talk like people?

[captainash]

I've heard that some species can do it, but I can't confirm that for certain.

[seasaltkey]

Maybe someone else knows? I'd want to meet a Pokémon like that.
