Am I getting my weeks wrong, or was there a rather suspicious lack of confused calls coming from New Bark Town over the last few days?

[He normally would not have registered that at all, yet this time he's been thinking about it enough to make his head pound.]

...Now that you mention it, I'm pretty sure we had one of those weird weekends about a year ago. This might be a warning for the next round.

I wonder who we'll run into this time? Or, what sorts of things will happen after it. I hope it doesn't drop more clothes from home on my head.

Clothes from home, really? All I ever got was my mobile suit, I think, and I didn't even get to keep it.

Yeah, a...dress that I wore at the dance. It was awkward.

What's a mobile suit?

A tall humanoid robot that can be piloted by a human for heavy labor or battle. Not nearly as pretty as a dress, unless you're into that sort of thing.

[A pause, giant robots? Sounds pretty dangerous.]

That sounds fun.

It certainly is.

Especially when you figure out how to get the most out of your old machine, and fly circles around pilots who have the latest models available. It always annoys them, for some reason.

Some people get annoyed when they realize that the flashiest thing doesn't beat out the basics, I have no idea why. If you don't have a framework then your work in anything falls apart or--like your experience--ends up being shown up.

And since getting shown up can mean having their machine damaged in this situation, they have plenty of reasons to learn from that particular mistake. Yet they never do.
