If you tell a Vanilluxe that ice cream would be the best dessert for her birthday? You deserve to be frozen to the sidewalk. If you loudly declare the virtues of roasted duck prepared with spring onion around a Farfetch'd? You deserve to have that spring onion shoved up your nose. If you make jokes about using fertilized eggs to make an omelet in front of a Blissey? You deserve to spend the next three hours washing yolk out of your hair.

[Geez, it sure doesn't sound like he had to deal with all three situations over the last week.]

And if you do all of that in front of their trainer? You deserve to get forcibly thrown out of the restaurant. No complaining.

No injuries are really permanent here, unfortunately. Or maybe people just haven't found out how to bypass the systems! If that happens, Pokémon battles are gonna be a lot shorter.

True, true... but this whole place is so kiddy and inconsequential! It's just so weird.

I can't argue that. I mean, it has its creepy parts, but most of the time it seems tailor-made for ten-year-olds.

Shouldn't it be priority to teach children about the consequences of their actions? Especially cockfighting! Good fighters don't come cheap in real life!

No, cockfighting is just a pastime where I was from- real cockfighting, mind you! No 'dulled claws' nonsense. Sometimes, things get out of hand... buuut what can you do, you know? The display definitely doesn't fail to please!

It's obviously legal! I live in Japan. It's just something that happens now and then, not a big event.

I guess there was a lot more variation in social standards, before countries were united under the Federation. No colony would allow that in my world.

'The Federation'? That sounds like a pretty terrible place to live in. [As much as she hates Western culture herself, variety is what makes traveling worth it.]

Hey, if you don't mind political corruption, government cover-ups and regular enemy bombardments, it's absolutely lovely. It's only missing purple rats trying to bite each other to death and dogs that can set you on fire.

Sounds a lot like my world, actually. So everywhere with humans really is just the same.

Of course they are. Were you really expecting there would be a world out there where human nature is different?

Not me, but other people seem to really like thinking that way. If this world wasn't arranged like a kid's game? People would be in constant war, and blood would be everywhere!

People are acting nice now because it benefits them, and they're too weak to tell the truth. The moment that isn't the case anymore, imagine how many idealistic fools will be shocked speechless when their so-called friends turn the tables on them! Everyone who thinks humans are trustworthy are either idiots, or manipulators themselves, and I'm not taking any chances.

...Just because a large number of people are selfish doesn't mean everyone is. Or that even the selfish can't have people they truly appreciate. Individuals are usually more pleasant and trustworthy than groups, anyway.

Not everyone. But so naively trusting people as easily as most here do?

Let me guess. It involves a path all thought out for you before you're even born, and very few people who bother asking what you want.

Something like that. Except I was born exceptionally talented, even as Heiress to the clan- so it's always been what I wanted!

At least there's that. Sixteen years would have been more than enough time to get sick of a vocation you didn't want, after all.

Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the people born alongside me. But it's not like they deserve any sympathy.
