Is there a reason why the combination of the Normal and Flying types is so popular? I'd swear I've seen a few species of them everywhere between here and New Bark Town. Even the poisonous bugs aren't nearly that common.

[He's definitely not asking that because said Normal/Flying combo just kicked his ass. Nope.]

There isn't any pure Flying Types. So all the 'generic' ones are Normal types too.

That would explain a lot, even if it doesn't sound fair. I was starting to wonder why every single one of my birds was also a Normal-type.

It has its goods and bads to it. It means they aren't resistant to fighting types, but Ghosts can't touch them.

But yeah, totes unfair.

And which are the most common, Ghost- or Fighting-types? Because if there's one ghost for every fighter, even that advantage is useless.

More complicated than that.

Normal-Type and Ghost-Type can't touch each other, but even if a Fighting typ does effective damage a Flying still does better damage back.

When I was young there were only three Ghost Pokemon, I hope the number hasn't gone up too much! That'd be cruel...

I can already tell you that it has. There was a ghost invasion for Halloween, and I've seen almost a dozen species at that time.

Well, I can still say there are probably more Fighting Types than that! Since there are four times as many Pokemon as there used to be. There have to be more fighters too!

Should we assume that all types have quadrupled since then? ...That'll make a lot of species to catch.

Except that Dark and Steel weren't types way back when, and some types end up getting a lot more mons than the others.

I'm still avoiding looking through my Pokedex for spoilers if I can. I'm sure there are more Fighting types than Ghosts.

Where did all of those new types and species spring up from, anyway? Undiscovered continents? ...And I don't think you can really get spoiled about a whole world, you know.

Not sure, this world might be more complete than the games. They might've been in new areas. Since Johto didn't exist in the games. Apparently we're also in the future of the games too.

...Which means we might be stuck in the sequel of said games. Or in the world they were based on, somehow. I'm not sure which option is the weirdest.

The weirdest is this is all the elaborate dreams of a kid in a hospital!

That would suck, but still less weird that what I said!

Well, if the kid was under particularly strong painkillers...

It'd still mean none of us are real and this conversation is the most meta thing a kid could dream doped up on pain meds.

...And what if by imagining this scenario you are creating the dreaming kid in the first place?

...But the scenario is like 7 years older than me.

How can I create something that existed before I did?

People do say that we come from all sorts of times here. You might give someone the original idea for it.

Get a written contract out of them, and tattoo it on their skin so they can't pretend to forget. You'll get your royalties soon enough.
