[For about a minute, the air is filled with the cries and noises of a small army of Pokémon. Singing birds, chittering rodents, with laughter and crashes mixed in every so often- uh, that sounded like Ember. Oh dear.]

...How do you know you're training too many of these things?

I don't think that would work. Princess would be unhappy with the amount of attention I give her even if she was alone.

...The attention they really need, in that case. Some are more demanding than others, but a reasonable compromise can be found...at some point, caring for too many Pokemon would hinder the trainer's ability to care well for any of them.

...They all seem happy to be here, and happy to play with each other. They might not grow quite as quickly as they want, but I guess that's good enough.

Then I think you're well clear of your threshold. The trainer's ability is the best judge.

I'll just make sure to slow down my captures. If there truly are as many Normal-types as I've been told, I'd be better off not catching them all in one go.

Why the interest in Normal-types?

[This is the first he's heard of something like that, besides the Gym Leaders.]

I want to find out how well a type called 'normal' can match up against psychic-powers and bursts of fire. You could also call it a fondness for them.
