[For about a minute, the air is filled with the cries and noises of a small army of Pokémon. Singing birds, chittering rodents, with laughter and crashes mixed in every so often- uh, that sounded like Ember. Oh dear.]

How many do you have?

[Chris seems a bit less hesitant than the last time his PokeGear was open. What with his Pawniard Maya sharpening her blades on a rock while he rested.]

[In less than two weeks. It's a little alarming, really.]

Not even two weeks yet. I've just been throwing balls at everything that catches my attention, and buying more when I run out. I'm starting to think this wasn't the best idea.

I might be overthinking it but I've been looking at Pokemon that may not be so common on this Route rather than going at it your way. But to each his own way.

I just have Maya who is a Pawniard. Oh, and a Squirtle egg when I arrive at Cherrygrove City. Of course that sort of cost me a good deal.

Heh, to each their own indeed. I happen to have a fondness for things that are considered normal and commonplace, so the local species suit me perfectly.

We can buy those eggs, then? I'll have to look into it. My only non-Normal-type is Dark Hound, my Houndour, and I think he feels outnumbered. Though I wouldn't want to spend all my money on one either.

From what I understand, Breeders (and once in a while Trainers) raise Pokemon and sell the eggs. Sometimes from what I see, they may have attacks for what they normally do not know. The Squirtle Egg cost me all of my money, but I think it was worth it. I guess it depends on what you're willing spend and what type of Pokemon you are looking for.

It'd be nice to see for myself how mammals and rocks can truly come from eggs... I don't care much about their attacks for now. We're still learning what everyone can do.

I know that feeling. It's a bit different than what I'm used to. Pokemon do seem to have a lot of depth to them.

They also have a lot of personality, for creatures that mostly resemble animals. I think I'll feel right at home with them, whether or not we end up travelling around.

Tell me about it. I guess you can't judge by looks either. Maya is pretty friendly herself for Dark and Steel Type. You really wouldn't expect a dark type to be that friendly.

You wouldn't, before meeting one that's little more than an overexcited puppy, though that could be his Fire-type acting up. Maybe Steel-types are supposed to be particularly friendly?
