38th treasure [text]

Is there any way for a Pokémon to keep its current ability after evolving? Or a way to block abilities, somehow?
It doesn't even have to work during battles, just while we're at home.
Using Entrainment and Simple Beam didn't work before, so that's out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Haven't heard of any items that do that, but if other abilities aren't out, know anybody with a Yamask?

An ability called Mummy. When it touches another Pokemon, it changes its ability to Mummy too.

Truant, huh. I don't know any Slakoths personally, so I don't know for sure, but my research at the Center hasn't said anything about it not working.

Outside of battle, it kind of varies, but it lasts a couple hours, most the time. Or until they go back in their ball, or wash themselves off.

To each their own, I guess. I'd love an excuse to sleep all day...

If you do go for this, though, and you don't have a friend with one, if it were me, I'd try and adopt or catch, instead of hatching a Yamask from an egg.

To be blunt about it, they're the souls of dead humans, turned into Pokemon.

It's not that, it's just... It sucks that it happened to them, you know? If it's already happened, might as well make the most of a bothersome situation, but to bring another one into the world on purpose just seems cruel.

Does that make it right to deliberately breed them on purpose?

Pretty sure they don't really get a choice in the matter.

Maybe they can't see how screwed up it is because they've lived here their whole lives. They don't know anything else.

It could just be that they're used to what they've got, and changing it would be too much of a pain to bother with. Can't say I'd blame them.

That's possible.

Though if that's what happened, I'd hate to see the mess it caused.

Where are you? I could ask Marian if she'd be willing to go visit and see if it works, at least.

That's a little far from Ecruteak, yeah...

Haven't been that way in years, so I couldn't say either way.
